Sandra graduated from LSAD in 2013 following a lifelong love of ceramics. Her work is influenced by the surrounding countryside, wild flowers, summer meadows and a nostalgic memory of growing up in the 70’s when there was time to wander country lanes, make daisy chains and enjoy all the countryside had to offer.
Each piece is handmade white earthenware, terracotta and porcelain. Sandra’s work comprises of a range of framed wall art, ceramic flowers and terracotta functional ware.
My functional ceramics are wheel thrown terracotta, decorated with underglaze and oxides. The different clays all have their own properties and nature, which for me makes ceramics so interesting with endless ideas of colour and design to be explored.
